Arrive Vietnam

Xin Chao! Welcome to Vietnam, the land of the “Ascending Dragon”.

Once you have cleared all customs procedures in Hanoi, collect your luggage and head towards the exit of the terminal where your English-speaking driver will be waiting to chauffeur you to your overnight hotel. Once checked in, the remaining day is at your leisure.

Hanoi
Day 2

Hanoi City Tour

Begin the day by being greeted by your private English-speaking guide for a visit to the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument of marble and granite built to house the preserved body of beloved revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh.

Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a Buddhist temple built of wood in 1049 in the shape of a lotus blossom and set on a single stone pillar. Continue on to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university built in the late 11th century.

This afternoon, visit the fascinating Museum of Ethnology, which houses an extensive collection of traditional costumes and artefacts from Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups. Drive back to central Hanoi for a walking tour through the famed Old Quarter known for its ‘36 streets of 36 wares’ named after the original 36 artisan guilds that date as far back as the 13th century.

The day concludes with a water puppet performance, a uniquely northern Vietnamese art form said to have originated in the flooded rice fields of the Red River Delta.

Breakfast and lunch included

Day 3

Hoa Lu and Tam Coc

Depart Hanoi for a comfortable private drive to Tràng An. Known for its spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks, the sheer vertical walls abruptly rise 200 metres (656 feet) above the surrounding land and water. Dense rainforest covers the landscape, clinging to the cliffs and peaks, blending naturally with rice paddies and rivers, creating a picturesque patchwork of colour.

Visit Vietnam’s ancient capital of Hoa Lu, once a centralised feudal state from the end of the 10th century, and the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties, surrounded by rice paddies.

Continue to Tam Coc, also known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where a skilled rower will take you on a two-hour slow journey on winding rivers and canals. Enjoy views of beautiful karst formations while entering three natural caves formed under hills on the way back to Tam Coc for lunch, before returning to Hanoi late afternoon.

Breakfast and lunch included

After lunch, you set sail toward the bay while enjoying some site visits and activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or relaxing on board. Toward the end of the day, your ship sets anchor for the night among the karst formations.

Yes, our local supplier requires that all travellers hold proper personal medical insurance and for any travellers that do not hold insurance and refuse to sign the waiver before the departure date, the supplier reserves the right not to proceed with the trip and will incur cancellation charges. This is also noted under the important section above.

Click and Trip supports this recommendation and provides information on available policies, how to buy as well as other pointers.

Travel insurance protects against unforeseen events that could prevent you from travelling. Please don’t delay! We encourage travellers to book a policy after receiving their personalised documents. Travel insurance is normally covered from the day of purchase. In other words, you’ll be protected from incidents prior to departure, depending on your coverage.

At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses. It should also include personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, as well as personal liability insurance.

Credit card companies and reciprocal medical coverage agreements do not always include comprehensive insurance. To learn more, talk to a recommended travel insurance provider or read our terms and conditions.

Absolutely. Please indicate any special requests like bedding, dietary, or medical requirements on the confirmation page. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Some airlines require advanced notification of dietary requirements, while other hotels limit capacity for rooms or suites. Please note that we cannot meet every request though we’ll do our best to make a memorable trip.

Not all of our vehicles are wheelchair accessible, which precludes wheelchair users and limited-mobility travellers. Please get in touch before booking to check your exact mobility requirements. Travellers should be reasonably fit to participate in all our trips. As always, please consult your doctor for all health enquiries before booking.

“From prices” are the best prices available within a calendar year; they’re generally based on two people sharing a room in the low season. Prices may be subjected to additional fees. For example, high-season travel, solo travel or larger group/room size may exceed the “from price.” International flight pricing depends on your airline choice, date, and routing.
