India’s climate varies by region. Choosing the right season to book India holiday packages really depends on where you’re going and what you want to see.

October to March has the most comfortable weather across central and most of northern India. The far north has very cold winters. In general, this season is a good choice for city tours and open-air markets. Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan are easier to explore.
April to June brings higher temperatures across the plains, but mountain areas stay pleasant. This is the right time for trips to Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Kashmir.
July to September is the monsoon season. Rainfall is frequent, but landscapes turn green and crowds thin out. Kerala, the Western Ghats, and rural parts of Tamil Nadu are worth considering if you don’t mind wet conditions.

If you’re booking tours to India from Australia, plan around the major holidays, as they tend to attract big crowds. Diwali and Holi, for example, come with closures and high demand in popular areas.
