Xin Chao! Welcome to Vietnam, the land of the “Ascending Dragon”.
Once you have cleared all customs procedures in Hanoi, collect your luggage and head towards the exit of the terminal where your English-speaking driver will be waiting to chauffeur you to your overnight hotel. Once checked in, the remaining day is at your leisure.
2 Nights in Hanoi – you can choose your hotel and standards below
Start your day with a private tour of the historical Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh announced Vietnam’s independence from France in 1945. Reach the Lenin Garden, a communal space for locals and walk with your private English-speaking guide through the small alleys of Hanoi where sewing shops have been in family hands for generations. Admire the daily life of local people who still practice an old way of life in the alleys of Hanoi, and capture the unique experience on camera.
Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university built in the late 11th century before heading onto the Ethnology Museum, both a research centre and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and explore Hanoi’s charming old quarter. Walk through the busy street of Nha Chung, stop at an old French house for tea break, and talk with a local resident to discover more about the change of life in each period.
The day concludes with a water puppet performance, a uniquely northern Vietnamese art form said to have originated in the flooded rice fields of the Red River Delta.
Breakfast and lunch included
After breakfast, you leave Hanoi for a 2.5-hour comfortable car ride to Halong Bay. The scenery of Halong Bay, where thousands of limestone islands jut out of the emerald sea, sculpted into bizarre shapes, is truly an iconic image of Vietnam.
An overnight boat trip is the best way to enjoy this Vietnamese must-see. As you arrive at the jetty in Halong City around noon, proceed with check-in formalities.
After lunch, you set sail toward the bay while enjoying some site visits and activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or relaxing on board. Toward the end of the day, your ship sets anchor for the night among the karst formations.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

The sun rises on Halong in the morning, and breakfast is served while the vessel cruises slowly back towards port. Disembark and transfer with your English-speaking driver to Hanoi airport for your onward flight to Danang.

Depending on your chosen standard, Comfort travellers will enjoy another day at leisure in Danang, whereas Deluxe and Indulgence travellers will be introduced to the Red Bridge Cooking School, one of the highlights of the culinary scene in Hoi An!
Deluxe and Indulgence travellers will meet their chef and other guests at Hai Café in the Ancient Town for a brief introduction to the school; then meander through Hoi An’s colourful central market with your chef and take in all its sights, sounds, and aromas. Learn how to select fresh produce and ingredients essential for Vietnamese cuisine. Embark on a relaxing 20-minute boat trip along the Thu Bon River to arrive at the school. After a tour of the herb garden, join a hands-on cooking class led by an expert instructor and learn how to prepare delicious dishes you’ll savour afterwards in the lovely restaurant overlooking the river. Following breakfast at your hotel, visit Angkor Thom and its South Gate, Bayon Temple, built from the late 12th century to the early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII. Make your way to the Royal Enclosure and Phimeanakas before heading into the jungle to Ta Prohm, where trees are overgrown with vines and roots.

Venture across the square to the Central Post Office and the former Presidential Palace. Continue to the War Remnants Museum for a vivid perspective of the American War through the eyes of the Vietnamese. (Please note that some of the displays are very graphic.)

Click and Trip supports this recommendation and provides information on available policies, how to buy as well as other pointers.
Travel insurance protects against unforeseen events that could prevent you from travelling. Please don’t delay! We encourage travellers to book a policy after receiving their personalised documents. Travel insurance is normally covered from the day of purchase. In other words, you’ll be protected from incidents prior to departure, depending on your coverage.
At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses. It should also include personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, as well as personal liability insurance.
Credit card companies and reciprocal medical coverage agreements do not always include comprehensive insurance. To learn more, talk to a recommended travel insurance provider or read our terms and conditions.

Absolutely. Please indicate any special requests like bedding, dietary, or medical requirements on the confirmation page. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Some airlines require advanced notification of dietary requirements, while other hotels limit capacity for rooms or suites. For example, high-season travel, solo travel or larger group/room size may exceed the “from price.” International flight pricing depends on your airline choice, date, and routing.
