Once you have cleared all customs procedures and luggage claim at Roma Fiumicino Airport, meet your private English-speaking driver in the arrivals hall, for a direct transfer to your hotel.

Indulgence travellers will enjoy VIP arrival assistance, which includes an English-speaking airport assistant who helps you with immigration, security and customs and a porter who escorts you to your private English-speaking driver for transfer to the hotel.

Once checked in, the remaining day is at your leisure.

Rome Highlights

This morning, embark on a walking tour of Rome’s most famous highlights led by an English-speaking private guide. Begin at the Fontana di Trevi–famous all over the world and immortalized in films. Here you can partake in a local legend: if you throw a coin into the water from over your shoulder, you are certain to come back to Rome. From here, walk to Spanish Steps and its Barcaccia fountain then to Piazza del Pantheon adorned with a magnificent fountain. The final stop is Piazza Navona where three famous fountains await: Fontana del Moro, Fontana del Nettuno and Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi.

This afternoon, head into ancient Rome, with a visit to the Colosseum and Forum, two of the most famous buildings in Roman history. With direct access to these remarkable landmarks and no waiting in long lines, you will be awestruck even before entering. Once inside, your guide will bring to life the wild spectacle of gladiatorial combat, political debate, and daily life that once flourished within these walls. Return to the hotel where the evening is at your leisure.

Day at Leisure / Exclusive afternoon aperitif

After a good night’s rest, start your day with your private English-speaking guide who will take you to the Doge’s Palace, the seat of government of the Republic personal Doge’s private residence. Continue on to the Palace Halls of Government and Justice, the private apartments of the Doge, prisons, and the very famous Bridge of Sighs.

Next, skip the line and continue to the Basilica, where the body of St. Mark the Evangelist lies. Admire the wonderful golden mosaics depicting stories from the Old and New Testaments before admiring the magnificent views of St. Mark’s Square and its monuments.

Day 4

Rome – Pompeii - Sorrento

After breakfast, meet your private English-speaking driver for a transfer to Pompeii. Once arrived at the Pompeii archaeological site, you will be greeted by your private English-speaking local guide for a tour around the ruins of this famous city that, in AD 79 was submerged by lava from the nearby volcanic eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Examine up close the daily life of this Roman population and how it was devastated by one of the worst natural disasters in ancient history.

Enjoy lunch in a winery settled close to the Archaeological Site, where you will enjoy a guided tour inside the 4 hectares of the property, besides historical witnesses, vineyards and elegant cellar and visit the Museum of Wine in an Ancient Building from the 16th century. The tour ends up with the Wine Tasting and the tasting of traditional Neapolitan menus and ancient roman dishes.

Continue your drive to Sorrento where you will check in for the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5

Amalfi Coast

This morning, meet your private English-speaking driver for a full-day tour along the Amalfi Coast. Your guide will drive you to the enchanting route of the “Divine Coast”: along the way, you will have stops for panoramic viewpoints to make some breathtaking pictures. Relax on top of Positano, a small village with Mediterranean-styled pure white houses covered with bougainvillea plants. Next stop is Amalfi, one of Italy’s oldest maritime republics. Here, you will have free time for lunch–at your leisure. You can choose a meal overlooking the sea or in a typical little Italian “piazza” surrounded by typically southern Italian scenery. Enjoy some free time to wander through labyrinthine streets and admire the magnificent facade of Saint Andrea Cathedral with its unique Arab-Norman and Romanesque style; it was once an Episcopal See.

Indulgence travellers will be served on a stunning terrace with spectacular views of the coastline. The restaurant is famous for its superb selection of fresh, local Mediterranean dishes and will leave you speechless.

Day 6

Day at Leisure / Capri by Private Boat

A break from your journey is always an excellent opportunity to discover a new culture. For our Comfort travellers, we suggest a visit to the island of Capri. However, there are many things to do among the sun-drenched piazzas, and winding streets in the Old Town that ooze with charm and make Sorrento one of Italy’s most beautiful destinations.

Deluxe travellers will enjoy a private boat ride by traditional Gozzo with their English-speaking captain to the island of Capri. You will spend the day relaxing and enjoying one of the most beautiful waters in the entire world. Your captain will navigate around the island and show you beautiful sceneries, like the Faraglioni Rocks and caves like the White Grotto and Emerald Grotto. At the end of the tour, your captain will bring you back to Sorrento’s port where you will reach the hotel on your own. Indulgence travellers will enjoy an upgraded experience by arriving on the island by a luxury 40ft yacht.

Day 7

Private Cooking Class

This morning, meet your English-speaking driver for a transfer to a local farm near Sorrento. There, you’ll visit the kitchen garden and learn how to prepare local foods. After a brief orientation, the chef will pick the vegetables and will create a typical menu. Enjoy a cooking class with an appetizer (starter), first course, second course, dessert and coffee/liquor. Water and wine are also included in this experience. The tour ends late afternoon so that you can be transferred back to your hotel by your English-speaking driver.

Day 8

Depart Italy

Depending on your international outbound flight, enjoy some free time at leisure before being transferred by your English-speaking driver to Naples airport for your flight to Rome and onto to Australia. Depending on your chosen airline, most flights will arrive in Australia the following morning.

    Italy forms part of the Schengen Area. Australian passport holders are usually allowed to enter the Schengen Area for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Passports must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen Area (six months validity is recommended).     Travellers should also be able to provide documentation confirming they have financial means to maintain themselves during their stay, travel insurance covering their period of stay, as well as tickets and entry documents for their onward destination. European hotels charge a city tax for a stay in each city that cannot be pre-paid and must be paid by the traveller upon check-in.

    Tips and gratuities are not mandatory in Italy and, therefore, are not included in the Indulgence package or provided as part of a tipping guide.

    Airfare and itinerary changes can be made via your online account or the Emergency Contact Team. Changes after initial confirmation will incur a fee of $100 per booking in addition to travel service provider fees.

    Absolutely! You’ll still receive the same inclusions as a couple, family, or small group, plus private local guides and drivers. Our suppliers always provide a safe travel environment regardless of group preference. Please note our all-inclusive pricing for accommodation, transportation, and guides is charged per travel group. Solo travellers are charged a single supplement fee.

    The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade highly recommends travel insurance for all overseas travellers. Click and Trip supports this recommendation and provides information on available policies, how to buy as well as other pointers.

    Travel insurance protects against unforeseen events that could prevent you from travelling. Please don’t delay! We encourage travellers to book a policy after receiving their personalised documents. Travel insurance is normally covered from the day of purchase. In other words, you’ll be protected from incidents prior to departure, depending on your coverage.

    At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses. It should also include personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, as well as personal liability insurance.

    Absolutely. Please indicate any special requests like bedding, dietary, or medical requirements on the confirmation page. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Some airlines require advanced notification of dietary requirements, while other hotels limit capacity for rooms or suites. Please note that we cannot meet every request though we’ll do our best to make a memorable trip.

    Majority of Venice water Taxis and Streets are not wheelchair accessible, which precludes wheelchair users and very limited-mobility travellers. Please get in touch before booking to check your exact mobility requirements. Travellers should be reasonably fit to participate in all our trips.     “From prices” are the best prices available within a calendar year; they’re generally based on two people sharing a room in the low season. Prices may be subjected to additional fees.
