Delhi

Day 1

Welcome to India

Namaste, and welcome to Delhi — India’s vibrant and bustling capital!

Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, your personal English-speaking driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. You’ll be transferred in comfort to your handpicked boutique hotel — your peaceful sanctuary amid the city’s lively rhythm.

Take the rest of the day at leisure — perhaps settle in after your journey or take a gentle walk through your neighbourhood to soak in the colours, sounds, and atmosphere. This is only the beginning of your mystical journey through India.

Breakfast included
2 nights in Delhi — stay in the hotel standard you choose

HUMAYUN'S TOMB

Day 2

Delhi — From Ancient Alleys to Imperial Avenues

Delhi is a tale of two cities — and today, you’ll explore both. Begin your morning with your private guide in Old Delhi, weaving through spice-laden lanes by rickshaw. Visit Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, and stroll through Chandni Chowk, a maze of stalls brimming with bangles, street food and silk.

Then shift tempo in New Delhi: stand beneath India Gate, pass the Presidential Palace, and marvel at the Mughal majesty of Humayun’s Tomb and the soaring Qutub Minar.

Between ancient minarets and colonial boulevards, Delhi sets the stage for the contrasts to come.

Breakfast included

India Explorer Taj Mahal

Day 3

The Taj Mahal and Agra’s Mughal Majesty

Depart Delhi by private car for Agra — home of one of the world’s most iconic monuments. After settling into your hotel, your expert guide will escort you to the Taj Mahal. Witness its marble brilliance shift with the sun, and learn the romantic (and tragic) story behind this world wonder.

Later, explore Agra Fort, a red sandstone fortress where royal intrigue unfolded across generations. The views of the Taj Mahal from its balconies are truly unforgettable.

Breakfast included
1 night in Agra – stay in the hotel standard you choose

Day 4

Abandoned Cities and Jaipur’s Welcome

En route to Jaipur, stop at the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri — a remarkably preserved 16th-century Mughal capital, abandoned just decades after construction.

Then continue into the heart of Rajasthan to arrive in Jaipur, the Pink City. Pastel palaces, amber fortresses, and lively bazaars await. Check in to your hotel, with the rest of your day free to explore or unwind.

Breakfast included
2 nights in Jaipur – stay in the hotel standard you choose

JAIPUR CITY PALACE MUSEUM

Day 5

Palaces, Temples & Royal Secrets

Our Deluxe travellers will get an early start to experience the daily life of locals in Jaipur. They’ll visit morning markets, walk through narrow alleys, and witness famous snack sellers who have been in business for more than 90 years. They will also get the opportunity to participate in morning prayers at the Hindu temple before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast at the hotel, head out with your private English-speaking guide to visit the magnificent Amber Fort and experience a blessing at the Shila Mata Temple. Amber Palace, also known as Amber Fort, is one of the most beautiful palaces in India. With its large ramparts, maze-like passages and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, the primary water source for the Amer Palace.

In the afternoon, take a trip to the City Palace Museum to see an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum has robes of royal princes, carpets, an armoury and miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes, and processions.

Indulgence travellers will enjoy an exclusive private tour of the residential areas of the royal family, which is restricted to general visitors. There they will enjoy a cup of tea/coffee in one of the living rooms before taking memorable pictures of these beautifully decorated rooms where Princess Diana had once dined.

Next, visit the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar, a stone astrological and astronomical Observatory and a photo visit to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) before spending some time in the city’s crowded and colourful bazaars picking up your final souvenirs for the day.

Breakfast included

Note: We do not encourage an elephant back ride at the fort, where the animal is used as a taxi and made for walking on the concrete and stone paths. Instead, we can offer an optional exclusive interaction with rescued elephants at Dera Amer, where you can paint the elephant with natural colours that do not damage the skin and bathe them before enjoying lunch from locally grown organic vegetables. More information can be found in your travel booklet if you would like to include this experience.

Fly to Varanasi — City of Light

Today, fly to Varanasi, India’s spiritual heart. A city unlike any other, Varanasi pulses with ritual, devotion and mystery.

Your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Spend your evening soaking up the atmosphere or strolling the ghats — where the sacred Ganges quietly flows and the divine feels just within reach.

Breakfast included

Day 7

Sunrise Rituals and Sacred Encounters

Rise early for a soul-stirring sunrise boat ride on the Ganges. Watch saffron-robed priests perform morning rites, and locals bathe in sacred waters beneath the rising sun.

What Our Travellers Say

Your Questions Answered

This 14-day private holiday traces India’s soul from north to south. It’s designed for curious first-timers, culture lovers, and comfort-seeking explorers who want depth, not just sightseeing. From the Taj Mahal at sunrise to spiritual Varanasi and Kerala’s peaceful backwaters — you’ll see India’s contrasts through the eyes of local guides, without the overwhelm.

Yes to all. Honeymooners love the romantic touches, families enjoy the flexibility, and solo travellers get the safety and companionship of private drivers and guides — without the group-tour feel. Want to tweak the pace? Just ask — it’s your journey, your way.

Of course. You’ll visit India’s most iconic monument with a local guide who’ll help you step beyond the postcard. Learn about its love story, walk the marble platform at dawn, and watch it glow pink in the morning light. Cameras don’t do it justice — but you’ll try anyway.

Fly into Delhi (DEL) and out of Kochi (COK). Popular airlines from Australia include Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Thai Airways, and Air India — all with stopovers. We’ve left flights flexible so you can use points or plan a longer stopover if you’d like. Want help? Just reach out — we’re happy to guide you.

It’s beautifully balanced. You’ll have immersive guided experiences each day, but also plenty of free afternoons and restful evenings to wander, swim, or sip chai at your own pace. Think curated, not crammed — with moments that feel like your discoveries.

You choose. Each stop offers Comfort, Deluxe and Indulgence options — all vetted by our team. From heritage hotels in Jaipur to lakefront villas in Kerala, each stay blends character, comfort and a warm welcome. Prefer a private pool or an Ayurvedic spa? Just let us know.

Absolutely. This route is one of India’s most popular and well-travelled, and you’ll never go it alone. From the moment you land, your private driver and local guides are by your side — plus our team in Australia is just a call away. Every detail has been pre-arranged with your comfort and safety in mind.

It’s not just temples and rituals — though there are many. It’s watching prayer lamps drift down the Ganges at sunset. It’s hearing monks chant in Sarnath. It’s pausing on a backwater boat, surrounded by silence and birdsong. These are moments that stir the soul — and stay with you.

Plenty. Cycle rickshaw rides through Delhi’s spice-scented lanes, a hands-on cooking class in Kerala, morning temple blessings in Jaipur, tea picking in Munnar — these aren’t just tours, they’re conversations. You’ll see India with insiders, not from a bus window.

Absolutely. Every India Colours of Heritage with Click and Trip starts with a conversation — not a checkout cart. To begin, simply click the “Tailor This Trip” button at the top of the page. That will take you to our Contact page, where you can reach out in the way that suits you best.

Call our Brisbane-based travel team on 1300 833 149, send an email to contact@clickandtrip.com.au, start a live chat, or fill out a short enquiry form. We’ll guide you through your options — from hotel styles to add-on experiences — and shape the itinerary until it’s just right for you.

We believe every great journey starts with a human touch. This one’s no exception.
