Day 2

Treasures of Cairo

Begin your day with a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum — home to one of the world’s richest collections of ancient artefacts, including the gleaming treasures of Tutankhamun.

Next, rise above the city at Saladin’s Citadel, where history meets breathtaking panoramic views. In the afternoon, get lost in the lively maze of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, filled with handcrafted goods, shimmering lanterns, and aromatic spices.

Tonight, choose between a dreamy Nile River dinner cruise or a romantic rooftop restaurant overlooking the city lights.

Breakfast and Dinner are included

Day 3

Pyramids, Pharaohs and Forgotten Cities

Step back over 4,000 years with your Egyptologist as you visit the vast necropolis of Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid — the first monumental stone structure ever built.

Then, it’s on to the legendary Pyramids of Giza, where you’ll stand before the awe-inspiring tombs of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, guardians of the ancient world. Marvel at the mysterious Sphinx nearby, watching over the desert sands.

Indulgence guests can descend into the Great Pyramid’s inner chamber — a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Breakfast included

Day 4

Cairo to Luxor – Sail into History

After breakfast, take a short domestic flight to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes. You’ll be met on arrival and transferred to your elegant Nile River cruise boat — your boutique floating hotel for the next four nights.

Depending on your boat’s sailing schedule, you may visit Luxor Temple today. In the afternoon, explore the West Bank: visit Queen Hatshepsut’s cliffside mortuary temple, witness the towering Colossi of Memnon, and descend into the haunting tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Deluxe and Indulgence guests receive entry to the iconic Tomb of Tutankhamun.

Day 5

Sacred Temples and Sunset Sails

Your day begins with a guided tour of Karnak Temple — a mind-blowing complex of towering columns, hidden sanctuaries and colossal statues.

Sail leisurely to Esna, soaking in life along the Nile as villagers fish from wooden boats and farmers tend to riverside crops. Deluxe and Indulgence guests are treated to afternoon tea on deck as the sun dips below the horizon.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included

Day 6

Horus, Kom Ombo and Crocodile Gods

Explore the wonderfully preserved Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, arriving by traditional horse-drawn carriage.

After lunch, float onward to Kom Ombo, the unique twin temple dedicated to Horus and Sobek, the crocodile god. Learn how ancient Egyptians linked crocodiles to fertility, then peek at mummified reptiles in the adjoining museum.

Tonight, enjoy an Egyptian feast onboard with entertainment as you sail into Aswan.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included

Day 7

Temples on the Nile

Begin with a short boat ride to Agilkia Island to explore Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and beautifully relocated after the Aswan High Dam’s construction.

Then visit the ancient granite quarries to see the Unfinished Obelisk — a massive monument left in situ. After lunch, drift along the Nile on a traditional felucca past Elephantine Island.

Tonight’s farewell dinner is a celebration of your journey — Deluxe and Indulgence travellers enjoy an upgraded gala evening.

What Our Travellers Say

Your Questions Answered

While your holiday is privately guided throughout Egypt, the four-night Nile Cruise operates with a small group format for sightseeing. You’ll enjoy the company of a shared Egyptologist onboard, while still benefiting from private transfers, personal time, and your choice of Comfort, Deluxe or Indulgence-level cabins. It’s a perfect blend of boutique cruising and intimate cultural discovery.

From Cairo to Aswan, you’ll encounter the very best of Egypt: the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Valley of the Kings, Abu Simbel and more. But it’s the thoughtful extras that set this journey apart — traditional felucca sailing, afternoon tea at the legendary Old Cataract Hotel, a visit to a Nubian village, and even the option to descend into the Great Pyramid itself (for Indulgence travellers). This is Egypt — elevated.

Your journey starts and ends in Cairo. We meet you before immigration at Cairo International Airport and escort you all the way through to your final departure. You’ll fly internally between Cairo, Luxor and Aswan with assistance every step of the way, so transitions are seamless and stress-free.

There are no direct flights from Australia to Egypt, but excellent one-stop options include Emirates (via Dubai), Qatar Airways (via Doha), Etihad (via Abu Dhabi) and Singapore Airlines (via Singapore then Cairo on codeshare). We’ll happily help you choose a route that aligns with your arrival day — or assist with adding stopovers if you’d like to extend your adventure.

Yes — and especially so when travelling with trusted local partners like ours. You’ll have the support of private guides, vetted drivers, and our Australian team at every stage.
