Discover the most enchanting Christmas markets in Europe on a hosted small group journey that blends iconic cities, fairytale towns, and a luxury Rhine river cruise. From Parisian sparkle and the twinkling Tuileries Christmas Market, to storybook Alsace villages, Rothenburg’s medieval magic, and festive ports along the Rhine — every detail is thoughtfully planned, beautifully paced, and completely hosted from start to finish.
This journey is built around the moments that make Christmas in Europe feel properly magical — not just the markets, but the atmosphere in between. Paris in December is all sparkle and tradition, from iconic views to the kind of cosy hot chocolate stop that feels like a real little ritual. Then it slows beautifully in Alsace, where Colmar and the surrounding villages glow at night and every street feels like a postcard you’ve stepped into.
The middle of the trip is the bit most people don’t do well on their own: Rothenburg after dark. You arrive with enough daylight to actually see the town properly, then lean right into the evening with a hosted German dinner, Kathe Wohlfahrt, and a lantern-lit Night Watchman walk that makes the medieval streets feel like a story coming to life.
And to finish, you swap hotels for the comfort of a luxury Rhine cruise — full board dining, beautiful suites, and festive ports that let you experience Christmas-market culture without repacking every day. It’s small (max 13), social in the best way, and paced so you get the highlights plus the breathing room that makes it feel special.
It’s stylish. It’s meaningful. It’s unforgettable.

Arriving a little early? This is a gorgeous festive add-on near Paris — lights, atmosphere, and a proper “wow” moment. We can help you plan it independently.
Maximum 13 travellers. It stays social, easy to move around together, and still gives everyone space to do their own thing.
It’s a mix — solo travellers, friends, couples, and anyone who loves the idea of experiencing Christmas-market Europe with a like-minded group (without it feeling like a “tour group”). Ages can vary, but the vibe is usually the same: quality experiences, a bit of comfort, and plenty of atmosphere.
Absolutely. You can choose to share (matched by gender where possible) or request your own room, subject to availability.
We’re currently planning around boutique stays that keep you close to the action: Left Bank Paris (Saint-Germain-des-Pres area), Colmar Old Town/Little Venice, and inside (or right by) Rothenburg’s Old Town walls. The styles we’re basing it on include Paris: Hotel Le Saint Gregoire, Colmar: Le Colombier, and Rothenburg: Hotel Eisenhut. Final hotel confirmation is always subject to availability and operational changes between now and departure — if we need to adjust, we’ll keep the same location focus and boutique feel, and prioritise what works best for the group.
Think boutique and well-paced. You’ll have beautiful, walkable bases in Paris, Colmar and Rothenburg, plus local guides where it matters so the days feel easy and seamless — but with breathing room for markets, cafes, and your own little discoveries.
It’s elevated all-suite river cruising with full board dining and flexible meal times, so you can eat when it suits you (within service hours) and never feel rushed. Service is genuinely lovely, and every suite includes butler service for those extra touches — from helping with laundry to making life onboard feel effortless while you watch the Rhine drift past your window.
Your Click and Trip host is with you throughout. Local guides join at key ports for sightseeing and included experiences, so each destination feels smooth and well-orchestrated without you needing to figure anything out on the day.
It’s active, but not rushed. There’s walking most days, but the pacing is thoughtful and the itinerary is designed to feel easy — especially across the cruise portion, where the ship does the travel while you relax.
A moderate level of fitness is perfect. Expect walking on cobblestones, some stairs in historic areas, and a bit of public transport in Paris. If you’re comfortable strolling for a couple of hours with breaks, you’ll be great.
Smart casual is perfect. Think nice knit, blouse, trousers, skirt or a winter dress. For men, a collared shirt and smart trousers works well. No need for anything overly formal — just polished and cosy.
Basel is a perfect launch point for Switzerland. If you’d like to add a couple of nights (think Lucerne, Zurich, or a scenic rail route), we can share ideas after booking. Otherwise, after breakfast onboard, you’ll disembark and we’ll include a private transfer depending on your onward plans. If your flight is later or you’re extending, just let us know.
Booking is beautifully simple. Just hit the white “Book Now” button at the top of the page (or below these FAQs) and follow the prompts. You’ll choose your room type first — twin share, solo (private room), or a double for two — then secure your place with an $800 deposit per person. From there, you can either pay the balance in instalments or in one go, and once your details are in, you’ll receive an instant confirmation email. Places are extremely limited (max 13 travellers), and twin bedding is first-come, first-served — so if you have a twin request, we recommend booking early.
