Next, cross over to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, home to Christ the Redeemer—a giant monument overlooking the city—and Sugarloaf Mountain, one of its most famous attractions: a majestic rock peak overlooking a beachside district called Copacabana. Experience all this on our Essentials itinerary.

If you want to extend your trip, consider visiting Lima, Peru’s capital city—a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a wealth of colonial architecture and gorgeous buildings. Choose our Adventurer itinerary if you wish to add a visit to the world’s largest rainforest, the Amazon Jungle, for unspoiled nature in an exotic landscape rich with wildlife.

When to visit Argentina?

The best time to visit Argentina is generally between December and February when beaches are open and beautiful, ocean temperatures are mild, the crowds are manageable, and the weather is pleasant. Buenos Aires experiences hot weather in January and February, making it uncomfortable for sightseeing or other outdoor activities. The Lake District, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are best enjoyed during the months of September through November or between April and May; avoid visiting these areas during summer (December through February) because temperatures will be uncomfortably high.
