Day 2

Tokyo Highlights

Today, explore Tokyo via the bustling public transport system. Escorted by your private English-speaking guide, you’ll visit some of the city’s most famous temples, markets, and shopping districts.

To begin, your expert guide will take you on a tour of the Meiji Shrine. Built in honour of Emperor Meiji before his passing, the shrine is one of Tokyo’s most famous tourist attractions. Visit the Museum, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the shrine and its importance to Japanese culture.

Next, visit the Imperial Palace Plaza and the religious Asakusa Kannon Temple. Constructed originally during the Edo period and lovingly restored over time, it has earned itself a spot on UNESCO’s list of protected cultural sites.

Break up your day at the famous open-air shopping mall, the Nakamise Shopping Arcade, before continuing onto the Ginza area. An amazing, vibrant, and ever-changing cultural hub, it is one of the main districts in central Tokyo.

After exploring the city like a local, you’ll return to your hotel, taking with you memories to keep for many years to come!

Next, see Japan’s largest outdoor wooden Buddha statue and its tranquil garden at Kotokuin Temple. Take a stroll through Hase Kannon Temple and admire its beauty while learning about its history.
