After breakfast, you’ll begin your day with a private English-speaking guide greeting you at your hotel, then heading straight to the Acropolis, one of Athens’ architectural masterpieces from the Golden Age. Set foot on the monumental gateway of Propylaea and visit the Temple of Athena Nike and Erechtheion. Finish off with a breathtaking view of the Parthenon, which dominates the hill of the Acropolis.

After passing by the Prime Minister’s residence and once the Royal Palace, go on a short stop to see the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Depending on your chosen standard, Comfort travellers will be guided to a fantastic area for lunch at their own expense.

Deluxe and Indulgence travellers will enjoy an exclusive lunch, featuring the best Greek dishes made with the freshest ingredients.

After lunch, continue sightseeing with a visit to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, a former colossal temple located in the heart of Athens. Before the end of the day, there will be time for photos at Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, Academy, University, National Library and Constitution Square (Syntagma Square) – a great way to end an unforgettable day in this city of history.

Day 3

Day at leisure

Today is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of Greek life. We suggest heading to the village-like neighbourhoods with traditional shops and taverns to see how the Greeks live in old buildings from different eras. Sample some delicious Greek food at a popular taverna, visit the sights and museums you didn’t get a chance to see yesterday, or simply relax! When visiting Greece’s capital city, there is plenty of things to do and see but today is at your own pace.

Centre of the Ancient World

Meet your English-speaking guide and driver in the morning, then proceed to Delphi, the centre of the Ancient World – the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth) – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lies one of the most important sites in all of Greece: The ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios.

Visit the Treasury of the Athenians and admire the masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture, such as the Bronze Charioteer, and Aghias, a famous athlete. Enjoy free time for lunch at a café in Delphi Village and a stop in Arachova before returning to your hotel.

Athens - Santorini

After breakfast, meet your English-speaking driver who will transfer you to Piraeus Port for embarkation on the ferry to Santorini. Depending on your chosen standard, Comfort will travel in Economy, Deluxe in Business Class, and Indulgence in Platinum.

During your next two days, you will have the opportunity to explore this romantic island at your own pace. Discover Santorini’s iconic beaches, colourful bays, and inspiring scenery. We suggest visiting places such as the Akrotiri archaeological site, Red Beach, or a must for all first timers, catching the picturesque sunset views over the blue dome churches.

During your stay in Santorini, on a night of your choosing, Indulgence travellers will be treated to an unforgettable 3 Course beachfront dinner overlooking the beautiful Aegean Sea.

Greece forms part of the Schengen Area. Australian passport holders are usually allowed to enter the Schengen Area for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Passports must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen Area (six months validity is recommended). Travellers should also be able to provide documentation confirming they have financial means to maintain themselves during their stay, travel insurance covering their period of stay as well as tickets and entry documents for their onward destination. European hotels charge a city tax for a stay in each city that cannot be pre-paid and must be paid by the traveller upon check-in.

Airfare and itinerary changes can be made via your online account or the Emergency Contact Team. Changes after initial confirmation will incur a fee of $100 per booking and any travel service provider fees.

Cancellations:

● 55+ days before arrival, $200pp cancellation charge of trip + the airline cancellation fees
● 55-40 days before arrival, 20% cancellation charge of trip cost + the airline cancellation fees
● 39-25 days before arrival, 85% cancellation charge of trip cost + the airline cancellation fees

Our suppliers always provide a safe travel environment regardless of group preference. Please note our all-inclusive pricing for accommodation, transportation, and guides is charged per travel group. Solo travellers are charged a single supplement fee.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade highly recommends travel insurance for all overseas travellers. Click and Trip supports this recommendation and provides information on available policies, how to buy as well as other pointers.

Travel insurance protects against unforeseen events that could prevent you from travelling. Please don’t delay! We encourage travellers to book a policy after receiving their personalised documents. Travel insurance is normally covered from the day of purchase. In other words, you’ll be protected from incidents prior to departure, depending on your coverage.

At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses. It should also include personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, as well as personal liability insurance.

Some airlines require advanced notification of dietary requirements, while other hotels limit capacity for rooms or suites. Please note that we cannot meet every request though we’ll do our best to make a memorable trip.

Majority of Venice water Taxis and Streets are not wheelchair accessible, which precludes wheelchair users and very limited-mobility travellers.
