Arrive Vietnam

Xin Chao! Welcome to Vietnam, the land of the “Ascending Dragon”.

Once you have cleared all customs procedures in Ho Chi Minh, collect your luggage and head towards the exit of the terminal where your English-speaking driver will be waiting to chauffeur you to your hotel. Once checked in, the remaining day is at your leisure.

3 Nights in Ho Chi Minh City – you can choose your hotel and standards below

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, you will be greeted by your private English-speaking guide for a full-day guided tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City.

Start with an introduction to how the tunnels were constructed and how people survived the harsh conditions. Explore the remaining area, tunnel systems and its many hidden trapdoors before experiencing a special tea and cassava–guerrilla’s food during wartime.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to the city. With over eight million inhabitants and four million motorbikes, Saigon is truly a city that never sleeps. Visit the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, which was built on the sight of the former Norodom Palace. Make a stop at Notre Dame Cathedral (built in 1883), a red brick edifice with twin campaniles constructed from materials imported from France.

Venture across the square to the Central Post Office and the former Presidential Palace. Continue to the War Remnants Museum for a vivid perspective of the American War through the eyes of the Vietnamese. (Please note that some of the displays are very graphic). While there, practice your Vietnamese with your guide to learn about daily life in Saigon before returning to your hotel, where the evening is at your leisure.

Breakfast and lunch included

Day 3

The Mekong River Delta

This morning, depart from Ho Chi Minh City for Ben Tre (a town in the Mekong River Delta) with your private English-speaking driver and guide. At the pier, embark on an exciting motorboat excursion that takes you deeper into the countryside via smaller canals.

After crossing back over the river, visit An Bình Island and its handmade canal while enjoying lunch at a local homestay. Walk around this orchard and enjoy some cups of tea while listening to traditional music played by local musicians in an ancient house.

Travel with your guide to a local village to enjoy some sweets and hot tea or even take a bike ride through the streets of this small town. See how local artisans create beautiful potteries from clay in brick kilns. The cruise will end at Vinh Long city before you begin the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 7

Hanoi at leisure / Hoa Lu and Tam Coc

Depending on your chosen standard, Comfort travellers will have the day at leisure to perhaps rent a motorbike and roam the streets, visit some temples, soak up some local bars or dine out at a fine Vietnamese restaurant.

Deluxe and Indulgence travellers will depart Hanoi for a drive to Tràng An, known for its spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks. The sheer vertical walls rise abruptly 200 metres (656 feet) above the surrounding land and water. Dense rainforest covers the landscape, clinging to the cliffs and peaks, blending naturally with rice paddies and rivers, creating a picturesque patchwork of colour.

Visit Vietnam’s ancient capital of Hoa Lu, once a centralised feudal state from the end of the 10th century and the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties surrounded by rice paddies.

Continue to Tam Coc, also known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where a skilled rower will take you on a two-hour slow journey on winding rivers and canals. Enjoy views of beautiful karst formations while entering three natural caves formed under hills on the way back to Tam Coc for lunch before returning to Hanoi late afternoon.

Day 8

Halong Bay

After breakfast, you leave Hanoi for a 2.5-hour comfortable car ride to Halong Bay. The scenery of Halong Bay, where thousands of limestone islands jut out of the emerald sea, sculpted into bizarre shapes, is truly an iconic image of Vietnam.

An overnight boat trip is the best way to enjoy this Vietnamese must-see. As you arrive at the jetty in Halong City around noon, proceed with check-in formalities.

After lunch, you set sail toward the bay while enjoying some visits and activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or relaxing on board. Toward the end of the day, your ship sets anchor for the night among the karst formations.

Yes, our local supplier requires that all travellers hold proper personal medical insurance and for any travellers that do not hold insurance and refuse to sign the waiver before the departure date, the supplier reserves the right not to proceed with the trip and will incur cancellation charges. This is also noted under the important section above.

Where it is not noted by the supplier under the important section, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade still highly recommends travel insurance for all overseas travellers. Click and Trip supports this recommendation and provides information on available policies, how to buy as well as other pointers.

Travel insurance protects against unforeseen events that could prevent you from travelling. Please don’t delay! We encourage travellers to book a policy after receiving their personalised documents. Travel insurance is normally covered from the day of purchase. In other words, you’ll be protected from incidents prior to departure, depending on your coverage.

At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses. It should also include personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, as well as personal liability insurance.

Credit card companies and reciprocal medical coverage agreements do not always include comprehensive insurance. To learn more, talk to a recommended travel insurance provider or read our terms and conditions.

Our website was designed to be as user-friendly and automated as possible. Everything you need is easily accessible online, from en-route enquiries to booking terms and conditions. What’s more, our chat service is monitored daily, and we provide a WhatsApp number for existing bookings departing within 48 hours. Please note that we cannot take payments over the phone. Check out our Contact Us page to learn more.

Absolutely. Please indicate any special requests like bedding, dietary, or medical requirements on the confirmation page. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Some airlines require advanced notification of dietary requirements, while other hotels limit capacity for rooms or suites. Please note that we cannot meet every request though we’ll do our best to make a memorable trip.

Not all of our vehicles are wheelchair accessible, which precludes wheelchair users and limited-mobility travellers. Please get in touch before booking to check your exact mobility requirements. Travellers should be reasonably fit to participate in all our trips. As always, please consult your doctor for all health enquiries before booking.

“From prices” are the best prices available within a calendar year; they’re generally based on two people sharing a room in the low season. Prices may be subjected to additional fees. For example, high-season travel, solo travel or larger group/room size may exceed the “from price.” International flight pricing depends on your airline choice, date, and routing.

Once payment is authorised, you’ll receive an email receipt and account activation. You can view your booking on your account by clicking on the man icon in the top right corner of any Click and Trip page. My Account lets you make additional selections like booking seats on flights.
