Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before travelling as the locals do, using public transport for an authentic experience with your English-speaking guide.

Your adventure begins atop the Bunkyo Civic Centre, where you’ll be treated to a magnificent view of Tokyo’s vast cityscape. Then, step back in time at the Edo Fukagawa Museum, which brings to life the city’s past with its life-size representation of the Edo period.

The tour continues to the Asakusa district, home to the venerable Senso-ji Temple, the oldest in Tokyo. Wander along the famous Nakamisedori boulevard, a lively street with traditional shops, perfect for experiencing Tokyo’s rich cultural tapestry.

Conclude your exploration in the bustling Ginza district, known for its upscale shopping, dining, and entertainment. It’s the ideal place to experience the vibrant heart of modern Tokyo. After a day filled with unique experiences and insights, return to your hotel with cherished memories of Japan’s capital city.

Day 3

Tokyo – Ogoto Onsen

Start your day with breakfast in Tokyo and pack a hand luggage for your overnight stay at a ryokan in Ogoto Onsen, as your main luggage will be couriered separately to Kyoto. In Ogoto Onsen, a serene town near Kyoto on the shores of Lake Biwa, spend your day unwinding in the renowned thermal baths of your ryokan. For a complete experience, try to arrive at the ryokan by 5 p.m. and indulge in the baths three times: before dinner, before bed, and the following day. Please note that your guide will not be travelling with you and will not be seen until Kyoto.

Enjoy a traditional Japanese dinner at the Ryokan. If you wish, explore Mount Hiei and the historic Enryaku-ji temple for panoramic views, but note that transportation to these sites is not included.

Stay overnight at Ryokan YUZANSO or similar, where rooms come with private thermal baths for an intimate and relaxing experience.
